Yes, we are a technology company, and yes we are up on the latest trends, and yes we love new stuff as much as anyone does.
HOWEVER, we don't implement the latest and greatest stuff until it has proven itself in the field. Quite honestly, we don't want to pay for it. In money or in time.
What we do want are tried and tested solutions that are the right thing for our customers, addressing their actual needs. That's how they get what they need, and how we expand our business by creating a healthy, sustainable relationship with our customers.
So we "lag behind" a bit (if you want to call it that), by taking advantage of the mistakes, the bug-fixes and the problems that others are making. Because by doing it that way, we get better stability at a far better price. And waste a whole lot less time doing it.
The explosion in affiliate marketing has required companies and organizations to create high-traffic "landing-page" sites dedicated to a single purpose - selling a product, or a bundle of products.
For this purpose, it is not practical nor recommended to use a database-driven solution. For this, a simple, static HTML/CSS site is the best option.

The teacher constantly repeated the above statement - 'measure twice, cut once.' Of course, what he really meant was "be really sure you're doing the right thing before you make an uncorrectable mistake."
Now turn that on it's head - measure once, cut a million times.
Digital data is designed to be copied. Replicating things to perfection is a cakewalk. So, in the digital world - once you have perfected something - copy it.
Use it.
Don't ever build it again.
And conversely, don't copy something that doesn't work.
